Real Weddings: Erin & Danny – Paradise Cove

Erin and Danny were such a fun couple to work with! They selected Paradise Cove as their venue, which was a perfect fit for them. Their families were very involved in the process and helped a lot in bringing their wedding day to life, which made it just that much more special!

For this beautiful wedding, we created a dessert buffet that included cannolis, apple and blueberry pie pops, mini caramel apples, apple cobblers in mason jars, butter cakes, chocolate chip pretzel sticks, peanut butter sandwich cookies, chocolate chip, and sugar cookies, and pumpkin spice, mocha, and white chocolate raspberry shooters.

It was definitely an event we won’t soon forget! Congratulations Erin and Danny!!

Real Weddings: Alison + Josh – Four Seasons Resort Orlando

We are so incredibly smitten with this oh so intimate wedding that we recently did at The Four Seasons Orlando Resort for Alison & Josh.   With the closest of friends and family looking on, the couple exchanged vows under the grand staircase.  Dinner was served at Lakeside East, the resorts intimate gazebo with a patio overlooking the lake.

We created a coffee bar and dessert buffet for Alison, Josh and their guests to enjoy while watching the fireworks from nearby Walt Disney World Resort.

Sit back and enjoy this beautiful video from Love and Lustre Weddings!

Our Exciting News!!!

After three years of planning some of the most beautiful dessert buffets we’ve ever seen, we expanded to the restaurant sector and began selling our desserts at one of the local boutique restaurants.  We were so thrilled with this new opportunity, but that also brought about decisions we needed to make.  In the end, we decided to restructure and continue our expansion with additional restaurants as well as adding a catering division!

We’re thrilled to announce we have created a parent company – Southern Traditions – along with Southern Traditions Desserts, and Southern Traditions Catering!  Two Sweets Bake Shop will continue to service the dessert needs of our wedding and special events clients.  Southern Traditions Desserts will provide desserts for restaurants and retail stores.  Southern Traditions Catering will offer regional southern food for private social events.

We look forward to serving our clients in the Central Florida area!

Happy Halloween!!!

Several months ago we participated in a styled shoot along with several of our favorite wedding vendors. This shoot had been in the works for well over a year, and while some of the players changed, the inspiration remained the same. Halloween. Dark. Glamorous.

Denise Wilson of Dogwood Blossom Stationery collaborated with us to design a shoot with the perfect mix of elegance and spookiness. Lee Forrest of Lee Forrest Design took the ball and ran with it when it came to florals and decor. His vision matched ours perfectly (as it does every time) and we knew he would deliver something that would simply bowl us all over. Alejandra Rodriguez with Everything Cake listened closely to what we envisioned and designed absolutely the perfect cake. Bonnie Dutkas of Mobella Events took this vision, pulled in the right vendors, and brought it all together with such grace and ease. Denise created the paper goods and they were just perfect. The table menus were stunning in black and gold, while the escort card display was a bit of spooky fun. (What better way to direct guests to their seats than to ask them to find their “final resting place”?). Hannah with Marigold Scott did an amazing job with hair and makeup for the models. Modern Bridal Shop loaned us the perfect dresses for the day. Absolutely Fitting pulled together a classic “dark” tuxedo for our groom (the Handsome Devil). The venue was absolutely perfect – The Grand Bohemian Orlando. And our photographer, Bumby Grimm of Bumby Photography.. well, what can we say? She just nailed it. The photos are stunning.

We hope you’ll sneak on over to Bumby’s website to view the entire shoot. It’s just simply gorgeous. And while you’re there, take a peek at our dessert buffet. Pretty darn cool if we do say so ourselves. 🙂 ❤

Styled Shoot: Sneak Peek

We are very excited to announce that we will be shooting a styled shoot this week with a few of our favorite vendors in the Orlando area. More details to come. See if you can guess what the theme for the shoot is by these sneak peek shots of the gorgeous desserts!

Our talented baking staff started off by making these glamorous cake pops with a flower detail. At first glance, they seem simple black and red but the closer you look, the more dimension and detail you will notice. Each cake pop is doused in fine black glitter, which catches every gleam of light, giving tons of visual interest to the pops. The red flower is a rose with ruffled petals to give the cake pop even more dimension. If the embellishment is this amazing, can you imagine what the inside tastes like?

The second dessert we have to show you are red velvet cheesecake bites with an Oreo crust! As if that doesn’t sound delicious enough as it is, let’s talk about the visual aspect. Each bite is absolutely decadent; the cheesecake portion is the deepest red you could ever imagine and the Oreos are as black as night. Everything about this dessert just screams mysterious and chilling to me – until you take a bite, that is.

Happy guessing, everyone! Let us know in the comments what you think our shoot is themed around.

Styled Shoot: Florida Federation of Garden Clubs

We love doing styled shoots and we love a challenge, so when our friend Bonnie Dutka from Mobella Events called us and asked if we would be interested in participating in a shoot at The Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, we jumped in with both feet!  Bonnie called it “bright, bold and beautiful” using the brightest pinks and oranges as the base colors, keeping with a natural garden inspiration.

We immediately went to work to come up with Florida inspired desserts that worked well with the color scheme and inspiration.  We reached out to our linen partner, Wildflower Linens to reserve their vibrant Lily Pad table linen as a base for our table.  We knew we were going to feature our signature naked cakes, so we reached out to Lee Forrest of Lee Forrest Design (who also happens to be one of our floral partners) to come up with florals that work well not only on our cakes but on our table as well.

Our stationery partner, Denise Wilson from Dogwood Blossom Stationery & Invitation Studio, created gorgeous paper products for the shoot and our buffet.

We wanted to do something special with our cupcakes and while perusing boards on Pinterest one evening, came across a flower made from pineapple slices.  We thought they were so cute and were excited to give it a try.  It took a few tries before we got the thickness just right, and several days of drying time, but in the end, the “flowers” came out perfect!

brightbold_StyledShoot_3.4.14-81

We created French Macarons, kumquat tarts, white chocolate keys, poached pears with chocolate-raspberry sauce, brownie bites,  and our signature gumball necklaces to the design.

As an added bonus, we decided to incorporate a signature cocktail, pina colada’s made with rum from Florida.  We also added Citron flavored Patron.

Perfect Wedding Guide Debut

We were so excited to debut our line of candy and dessert buffets to brides this weekend at the Perfect Wedding Guide bridal show in Orlando.  The event was held at the Marriott World Center Resort near Walt Disney World.  We wanted to share a few of our photos we took (we can’t wait to see professional shots!).

In preparation for the event, we put together a stunning black, gold and pink design for the buffet, and created over 1200 pieces of baked goods for brides to sample, include pink lemonade, vanilla and chocolate mini cupcakes, chocolate covered pretzels and mini French macarons.

Our design included a round table, where we displayed our samples.  We borrowed gold and white china from our vendor friends at A Chair Affair.  The stunning floral centerpiece of hydrangeas and peonies floating on top of a gold candlestick was created for us by our floral partner Lee Forrest Design.

How good do these pink lemonade cupcakes look?  They were every bit as yummy as they appear!

DSC_0019

This is one of our signature chocolate covered apples with edible gold glitter from the buffet.  We were thrilled with how beautiful they looked!

DSC_0024

Our pink meringues and cake shooters were a big hit as well!  Light, fluffy and perfect for a lighter dessert option.

DSC_0036

Our edible gold glitter cake pops were a huge hit!  And isn’t the buffet sign from our stationery partner, Dogwood Blossom Stationery, just the sweetest thing you’ve ever seen?

DSC_0040

Of course we had to feature our signature gumball necklaces!  We created pink and black necklaces, both on gold ribbon with gold flowers.  Brides loved the idea of having them at their bridal showers, bridesmaids luncheons or bachelorette party!

DSC_0043

Here’s one last photo taken with my iPhone of our entire buffet!  We were so excited we forgot to take photos of the whole buffet until right before they opened the doors!  Don’t you simply adore the gold curly willow centerpiece with hanging votive candles and peonies from our floral partner, Lee Forrest Design?

Three hours into the event, we ran completely out of post cards and business cards, and shortly thereafter ran out of samples!  We were thrilled with the responses we got from brides and their families – they loved the buffet and our treats!  We’re looking forward to working with many of the brides we spent time with on Sunday!

Until next time, be sweet!  xoxo
