Real Weddings: Ali & Matt Update

Goodness gracious sakes – we received some of the professional photos of Ali and Matt’s wedding (see our previous post using our iPhone photos) and we’re still swooning!!

As you recall, Ali & Matt were married at Bella Collina three days after Christmas.  Their gorgeous wedding for 200+ guests was so beautiful and flawlessly executed by the lovely ladies of Blush by Brandee Gaar.   This was by far the largest dessert buffet we’d done to date with well over 500 pieces of dessert and we think the result was just beautiful!  ❤

We also want to give credit to the wonderful folks at Party Flavors Custom Cakes for making the three cakes that we incorporated into the buffet.  The green birds are just the sweetest touch!

Real Weddings: Ali + Matt 12.28.13

We met with Ali and her mother several months ago when she was in Orlando for a wedding planning trip at the kitchen.  Even though she had ordered a cake (actually three) for her December 28th wedding at Bella Collina, she wanted to offer her guests something more.

With a guest list of around 250 people, we put our heads together and came up with a menu that was sure to please everyone.  Our menu consisted of our glitter cake pops, several varieties of mini pies, individual bread puddings, lemon bars, raspberry tarts, mini cannoli, chocolate covered Oreos, our signature Hot Chocolate on a Stick, individual pumpkin gingerbread bundt cakes, fig tarts, and truffles.

Ali had seen a photo on Pinterest of a dessert buffet table made with wine barrels, and really wanted it for her day.  We contacted our friends at A Chair Affair to see if they had anything like it in stock.  They didn’t, but said they would be willing to make it for her, so with them on board, we were set to go!

We just can’t say enough good things about how beautiful everything turned out.  Alison Watson from Blush by Brandee Gaar was Ali’s coordinator throughout, and created a stunning masterpiece for Ali and Matt’s big day.  From the clear span tent, to the crystal chandelier, market lighting, and everything in between, it was simply gorgeous.  Denise Wilson, our partner from Dogwood Blossom Stationery & Invitation Studio created the stunning signage for the dessert buffet.

The Florida weather was threatening on the big day, and we did get sprinkled on a few times while we were setting up the buffet, but in the end, the skies cleared and it was a beautiful moonlit night.  We can’t wait to see the professional shots from Ash Imagery, but in the meantime, we’ve posted some of our amateur iPhone photos!  😉

Real Weddings: Allen + David 12.27.13

When Allen called to ask if we could do a dessert and candy buffet for her small wedding one week away, we knew we couldn’t say no.  It was the week before Christmas, and there wasn’t anyone who would have availability to pull something together for her.  Since we were already spending long hours in the kitchen preparing for a much larger wedding the day after Allen and David’s, we felt we could easily add a few baked goods to the schedule and give her a beautiful buffet.

We started out with French Macarons in a very pale pink to match Allen’s color selections, filled with our Raspberry Buttercream filling.  We added our signature Glitter Marshmallows, gumballs, rock candy, jelly beans, Sixlets, and Pixie Stix to round out the candy offerings for the children.

The room decor was an understated elegance of white linens with white and pink florals in silver vessels with crystal candle holders, so we complemented that look with our white Manzanita tree with strands of crystals and hanging tea lights in a silver cache pot.  We used our silver and crystal frames to display the buffet signage, and crystals service pieces to display the Macarons and rock candy.

We wish Allen and David all the happiness in the world and thank them for giving us the opportunity to create a beautiful display for their intimate wedding!
